Education: Required - Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program. Experience: Required - Three (3) years nursing experience. Experience as Manager or Supervisor. Supervises: RN, ANM, LVN, MA, EMT, CNA, as required Summary: The Nurse Manager ensures quality and safe delivery of health care services in compliance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies and protocols. Provides skilled nursing services and assists with the coordination of health care services for assigned residents. Perform nursing duties at designated site(s) in accordance with nursing guidelines and best practices established by the Texas Board of Nursing for Registered Nurses. 2. Complete accurate documentation of nursing activities performed in accordance with agency policies and procedures and contract and regulatory requirements and standards and program timeline requirements. 3. Meet all pre-determined deadlines required by program and state partners. 4. Must be able to perform physical activity such as extensive walking, lifting of patients, stretching and bending Measurable Deliverables: 1. Meet all state regulatory guidelines and standards that are applicable to this position. 2. Provides operational support and acts as a representative at Interdisciplinary Team meetings, seminars, and other employer related functions.
Be familiar with and be able to provide supervision and training to direct care staff pertaining to administration of medications for each resident when requested by RN Manager. 4. Effectively communicate, consult and interact with the Medical Director on protocol and procedure issues affecting the quality of health care services on cam pus. 5. Ensure transportation off site of residents to health care appointments including; doctor, dentist, therapy, counseling, lab and other required transporting visits. 6. Complete and maintain monthly schedule for BVT Clinic and PAS employees. 7. Ensures maintenance and audits of Medication Administration Record (MAR) for each resident. 8. Collaborate with and apply recommendations of Medical Director regarding best practices and BVT medical protocols and procedures. 9. Ensure medical orders, as given by client's providers, are implemented and followed at all times. 10. Participate in scheduled meetings, team decisions and operations. 11. Adhere to scheduled hours pertaining to position, including after-hours duty, evenings, weekends and holidays as scheduled. 12. Initiate medical services provided to service population to ensure services meet all state and program requirements and clinic setting remains safe and sanitary at all times. 13. Report signs of abuse, neglect, and exploitation and sexually provocative behavior and implement professional response, reporting and documenting procedures. 14. Adhere to agency professional and ethical standards of conduct outlined in BCFS/BVT employee handbook including demonstrating respect for agency staff, residents, and community members and complying with required dress code at all times. Credentials, Skills and Abilities: 1. Maintain current licenses and certificates required for the position including, but not limited to: a. Good standing as a Registered Nurse with the state of Texas Board of Nursing b. Current BLS certifications and First Aid Certification 2. Pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug screens throughout employment. 3. Valid Texas Driver's License. 4. Pass a pre-employment and biennial criminal background check. 5. Must complete and sign Operations Policy and Procedure review and certification 6. Must provide proof of immunizations, titers or declinations for the following: a. MMR b. Varicella c. HepB d. Tetanus e. PPD f. Influenza g. COVID-19 7. Must be able to maintain professional people skills, oral, written, listening, and non-verbal communication skills 8. Demonstrate the ability to: a. Respond sensitively and competently to the service population's cultural and socioeconomic characteristics b. Work collaboratively with other staff members, service providers, and professionals c. Communicate effectively in writing and verbally in English. d. Work in a fast paced environment while maintaining control and professional composure at all times and making decisions based on the needs of the program and service population e. Maintain computer literacy required to meet the responsibilities of the position f. Work effectively and without intensive supervision both independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team
