Essential Functions and Primary Duties

• Deliver high-quality, client-focused general accounting services to all assigned clients, accurately entering transactions related to cash, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end adjusting journal entries as directed.
  
• Take an active role in the month-end close, including reconciling cash and credit card accounts, importing or syncing data from external systems, and updating balance sheet schedules as required.
  
• Proactively communicate progress and potential issues, seeking guidance when necessary to prevent delays and ensure smooth workflows.
  
• Prepare preliminary monthly financial statements for manager review, analyzing and clearly explaining unusual variances or discrepancies compared to budget and prior periods.
  
• Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure all client deliverables are completed on time and in accordance with firm standards.
  
• Consistently follow established processes and procedures, while actively contributing suggestions for process improvements.
  
• Oversee and review the monthly work of staff accountants, providing supervision and ensuring accuracy, completeness, and efficiency in the month-end close.
  
• Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning by proactively expanding knowledge of accounting principles, best practices, and emerging technologies.
  
• Proficient with cloud-based accounting and finance technologies (such as QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct, BILL, Ramp, Expensify, Gusto, etc.).
  
• Skilled in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in relevant field
• 3 years of relevant work experience
• Achieve professional certifications relative to area of expertise, must have and preserve required licenses
• Must possess analytical skills
• Proficient use of applicable technology
• Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
• Must be able to travel based on client and business needs
