We are seeking candidates to fill the position of Senior Civil Engineer to serve as a project manager for a varied client base and help expand our Land Development Practice in North Carolina.

The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of progressive experience and possess the professional and interpersonal skills to make a positive impact on our firm and the clients we serve. The successful candidate will possess a can-do attitude, have a passion for and take pride in their work, be a creative thinker, and have a willingness to collaborate while having the ability to work independently.

Annual Compensation: $110,000 - 179,000 based upon experience, certifications, and regional market standards

SENIOR CIVIL ENGINEER ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Plan and design a wide range of Land Development engineering, public utilities, and private development projects.
• Lead engineering studies and design projects with demonstrated ability to take projects from identifying concepts, to design and preparation of construction documents, to providing construction (and post-construction) services support.
• Manage task-specific scope, schedule, and budget.
• Client/project management experience and business development are preferred.
• Coordinate design activities and meetings between design staff, subcontractors and client managers.
• Participate in project decisions regarding technical approaches, cost and scheduling performance.
• Interface and build relationships with clients and public agencies on an as-needed basis.
• Collaborate with a team of support professionals, including CAD designers, EITs, and GIS technicians.
• Mentor and assist junior engineers in developing final design and construction plans.

Additional Responsibilities and Duties:

• Willingness to travel to visit various US-based client locations.
• Desire to innovate and solve difficult problems from inception to final deliverable.
• Ability to react quickly and calmly to high-pressure situations.
• Ability to work independently and in team settings.
• Other duties as assigned.

SENIOR CIVIL ENGINEER ESSENTIAL CREDENTIALS:

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering required.
• North Carolina PE is required or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience is required.
• AutoCAD Civil 3D software experience preferred.
• Experience working with DOTs preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
