Role Summary
A Senior Control Engineer with extensive experience in process control systems is sought to implement, and support automation solutions within petrochemical and refined product pipeline facilities. This role involves providing technical expertise and guidance on process control projects, ensuring consistency with industry standards and operational excellence. The position requires collaboration with operations teams and stakeholders to optimize control systems and enhance safety and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Configure and support process control systems and instrumentation for pipeline and refinery operations.
- Provide engineering and technical support for control systems, including safety protocols and loop tuning processes.
- Assist in developing project scopes, estimates, and documentation aligned with industry standards.
- Collaborate closely with local operations teams to ensure control system effectiveness and compliance.
- Develop and troubleshoot applications within Honeywell DCS, Wonderware/AVEVA Intouch HMI and Allen Bradley Control Logix PLC platforms.
- Conduct system testing, commissioning, and ongoing support for control system components.
- Participate in site surveys, field troubleshooting, and technical assessments to resolve operational issues.
- Communicate technical concepts effectively across varying organizational levels, including contractors and operations personnel.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures, permitting requirements, and operational policies.
- Maintain documentation, including configuration details, process logic, and safety procedures, to support system integrity and troubleshooting.
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field; equivalent technical certifications or experience may be considered.
- 5-7 years of experience in implementing process control systems within storage, pipeline, upstream or midstream oil and gas facilities; candidates with at least 3 years will be considered if highly qualified.
- Proven experience with control system configuration, including PLC programming, HMI development, and related automation platforms.
- Strong knowledge of industry standards for documentation, loop tuning, safety systems, and control configuration.
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs and climb ladders safely in field environments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction across teams and stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel domestically up to 10% and be on call 24/7 as necessary.
- Must demonstrate confidence, assertiveness, and the ability to work independently, especially in upstream/midstream oil & gas environments.
Publishing Pay Range: $130,000.00 - $150,000.00 annually
This position is based in the office and requires employee to work on-site.
