Senior Fund Accountant - Real Estate Investment

A leading public accounting firm is seeking a Senior Fund Accountant to support its engagement at a real estate investment management client in Downtown Los Angeles. This is a permanent opportunity offering strong career development, exposure to both public and private accounting environments, and the ability to earn CPA hours.

Location: Downtown Los Angeles
Work Model: Hybrid (4 days on-site)
Start Date: ASAP
Compensation: Up to $120,000 + discretionary semi-annual bonus based on billable overtime
Industry: Public Accounting / Real Estate Investment
Software: MRI preferred; Yardi or any GL system acceptable

Role Overview:
The Senior Fund Accountant will manage accounting responsibilities for real estate investment entities, including reviewing financial packages from third-party property managers, performing CAM review, preparing fair value adjustments, monitoring capital improvements, and maintaining general ledger accuracy. This role works closely with internal teams and client-side real estate professionals to ensure accurate reporting and timely close cycles.

Key Responsibilities:
* Review tenant ledgers, rent rolls, CAM reconciliations, and property operating reports
* Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements
* Monitor capital expenditures and assist with fair value adjustments
* Work with wire transfers, cash receipt applications, and G&A coding
* Collaborate with third-party property managers and internal stakeholders
* Support quarter-end close (some overtime required)

Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
* 4+ years of accounting or finance experience within the real estate industry
* Experience with investment companies preferred
* Exposure to both public and private accounting is ideal
* Strong general ledger experience
* Backgrounds that may be a fit: commercial real estate, REITs, private equity real estate, CPA firms with real estate clients, or property management accounting
