Caterpillar is seeking a Senior Learning and Development Consultant to join the corporate Learning & Development Center of Excellence.

We are looking for someone passionately committed to helping the Caterpillar team grow through learning opportunities and professional development. You will help reinforce a learning culture, advance our enterprise strategy and ensure proactive skill growth.

What You Will Do:

Establishing and maintaining processes for assessing changing business needs for employee, executive, and organizational development programs.

  • Providing consulting services on design and development of large-scale or complex solutions for addressing skills gaps, leadership, and organizational development issues.
  • Designing programs and solutions for global leadership development initiatives which support business goals.
  • Implementing programs with efficient use of resources, including negotiating with vendors and adopting technology solutions, to achieve learning goals and business outcomes.
  • Evaluating new and existing curriculum/learning solutions, including pilot and experimental programs, and recommending appropriate approaches for scaling or improving development programs for enterprise application.

What You Will Have:
  • Degree or equivalent experience desired
  • Consulting: Knowledge of techniques, roles, and responsibilities in providing development guidance to business partners; ability to apply consulting knowledge appropriately.
  • Influencing: Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to impact decisions within and outside own organization.
  • Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Instructional Design: Knowledge of relevant instructional design concepts and processes; ability to design instructional content to meet the learning needs of a target population.
  • Training Delivery : Knowledge of methods and tools of training delivery; Ability to deliver learning solutions for desired training outcomes

Top Candidates Will Also Have:
  • Training Needs Analysis: Knowledge of tools, techniques and methods of training needs analyses; ability to identify what people need to learn for successful individual and organizational performance.
  • Training Solution Development: Knowledge of training solution development procedures, tools and techniques; ability to utilize the knowledge for developing a solution to stated training needs.
  • Strong business acumen and inquiry skills to identify, probe, and define business requirements.
  • Skillful analyzer of both quantitative and qualitative data, credible in bringing reliable and valid insights to light.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable delivering presentations to a wide range of audiences.
  • Experience managing change when enhancing current products and solutions, as well as introducing new products and solutions.

Additional Info:
  • This position can be located in Peoria, IL or Irving, TX
  • This role requires 5 days a week in office
  • Domestic relocation is available for those who qualify

  • International and Domestic travel up to 20%

Summary Pay Range:
$147,760.00 - $221,640.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
