The Public Policy Subject Matter Expert (SME) will be crucial in shaping and analyzing policies for the Division of Jurisdictional Support (DJS) within the Public Health Infrastructure Center at the CDC. This full-time, remote position, open to candidates in the Atlanta, GA area, emphasizes policy analysis, compliance, and continuous improvement. Applicants must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance for access to facilities and equipment. Experience with federal policy and the CDC is highly preferred.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Essential Duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Leads the review and implementation of policy guidelines, ensuring alignment with applicable statutes, regulations, and organizational goals.
- Conducts thorough analyses of current and emerging policies, legislation, and regulatory changes that affect various programs, providing timely updates and recommendations to leadership.
- Recommends process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and compliance.
- Provide support for strategic program planning, including performance reporting, budget proposals, investment and grant analysis.
- Develops professional and compliant documents and reports, including briefings, presentations, and statements addressing internal and external requests on policy and program matters.
- Works closely with internal and external stakeholders on policy-related issues, offering insights and input on collaborative projects to advance partnerships.
- Serves as a principal advisor in developing short- and long-term public health program goals, objectives, and policies, emphasizing data-driven strategies and risk management.
- Utilizes exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills to constructively resolve issues and mitigate risks.
- Upholds standards for privacy, data integrity, and security, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and best practices.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEMaster's degree and a minimum of ten (10) years relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education/experience.
