Reports To: Hatchery Supervisor

Job Summary
The Egg Setter Lead is responsible for overseeing daily egg setting operations and supporting the egg setting team to ensure eggs are placed accurately and on schedule. This role serves as a working lead, coordinating workflow, maintaining production documentation, and escalating issues to management or maintenance as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure eggs are placed into all setters correctly and in a timely manner.
  
• Maintain all hatcher and setter charts throughout the shift.
  
• Perform egg weighing for designated flocks throughout the week.
  
• Monitor equipment and production conditions during the shift.
  
• Notify management and maintenance of any issues, abnormalities, or operational concerns.
  
• Support adherence to biosecurity, safety, and quality standards at all times.
  
• Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
  
  

Lead / Role-Specific Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day support to egg setting operations.
  
• Assist with coordination of work activities to maintain workflow and quality.
  
• Support communication between team members and supervision as needed.
  

Supervision
Provides functional support to approximately 2 contract workers. This role does not include formal disciplinary or performance management authority.

PPE & Work Environment
Required PPE includes safety shoes, gloves, and eye protection. Work is performed in a hatchery environment with varying temperatures, humidity, noise levels, and biosecure areas.
