Overview

We are seeking a Power BI & Analytics Engineer to join a growing data and analytics team. This role will focus on developing and maintaining Power BI reporting solutions, supporting analytics engineering initiatives, and helping modernize enterprise reporting platforms. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, SQL, and data modeling, and enjoys transforming complex data into actionable business insights.

This is a collaborative, hands-on development role where priorities and technical direction will be established by senior data and analytics leadership, while providing opportunities to contribute ideas and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports that support business and operational decision-making.
  • Build and optimize semantic models, measures, KPIs, calculations, and Row-Level Security (RLS).
  • Develop scalable analytical solutions using Power BI, DAX, Power Query (M), and modern data modeling techniques.
  • Support Microsoft Fabric-based reporting and analytics environments, including report enhancements following data platform migrations.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical reporting and analytics solutions.
  • Assist with data engineering activities, including ETL/ELT processes, data validation, pipeline support, and troubleshooting.
  • Investigate and resolve reporting issues, data quality concerns, refresh failures, and production support requests.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation related to dashboards, semantic models, data pipelines, and business logic.
  • Support knowledge-sharing efforts and contribute to reporting and analytics best practices.

Required Qualifications
  • 2-5 years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Analytics Engineering, or Data Engineering.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Power BI, including:
    • Dashboard and report development
    • Data modeling and semantic models
    • DAX and Power Query (M)
    • Row-Level Security (RLS)
    • Report performance optimization
  • Experience working with Microsoft Fabric.
  • Strong SQL skills for querying, analysis, troubleshooting, and data validation.
  • Understanding of analytics engineering, data warehousing, and ETL/ELT concepts.
  • Experience supporting enterprise reporting and analytics environments.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration abilities.

Slalom is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For this position, the base salary pay range is 80-95/hr. Actual compensation will depend upon an individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
