Location: Local to Portland, OR required - 3-4 days onsite wkly

What You'll Do
- Act as the primary bridge between business strategy and technical execution, translating high-level priorities into scalable data solutions
- Define and evolve enterprise data strategy, aligning to innovation goals and enabling AI-driven capabilities
- Partner with executive stakeholders to prioritize initiatives, shape roadmap decisions, and build a long-term data vision
- Establish and mature a data-as-a-product operating model, turning enterprise data into reusable, high-value business assets
- Lead the design and guidance of end-to-end data ecosystems across modern cloud platforms (AWS)
- Provide architectural oversight and direction to internal engineering teams, ensuring alignment with best practices and long-term scalability
- Drive adoption of modern data architectures to support advanced analytics and AI-enabled innovation
- Build and evolve data governance frameworks, including ownership models, data quality standards, metadata strategy, and lifecycle management
- Navigate complex and evolving environments, influencing alignment across business, product, and IT teams (including global stakeholders)
- Serve as a trusted advisor to both business and technical leaders, fostering strong partnerships and reducing friction across organizations
- Develop strategic roadmaps, operating models, and phased transformation plans to establish foundational data capabilities
- Help define and shape future-state team structures, staffing models, and capability needs for the data organization
What You'll Bring
- 10+ years of experience in data strategy, data architecture, or enterprise data leadership roles
- Proven ability to define and implement enterprise data strategies in complex, multi-stakeholder environments
- Strong expertise in modern data ecosystems, including experience with AWS-based platforms and tools such as Databricks
- Experience designing and guiding implementation of end-to-end data platforms and data product ecosystems
- Deep understanding of modern data architecture principles supporting advanced analytics and AI/ML use cases
- Demonstrated experience establishing data governance frameworks (data ownership, quality, metadata, lifecycle management)
- Track record of developing operating models, roadmaps, and transformation strategies for enterprise data organizations
- Strong executive presence with the ability to influence, align, and communicate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience working in ambiguous, evolving environments and driving clarity across business and technical teams
- Background in data productization and enabling data-as-a-product approaches across the enterprise
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build trust across business units and IT organizations
- Experience working with tools across the modern data stack (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, dbt, BI/visualization tools)

Compensation and Benefits

Slalom is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.The targeted pay range for X is $90 to $100/hr. Actual compensation will depend upon an individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
