Job Summary:
Performs high quality sonography examinations and serves as a lead. Provides guidance and instruction for staff. Coordinates workflow, staff schedules, monitors quality, and works closely with staff, physicians, and other departments to continuously provide and improve service and quality.
EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:
A minimum of 3 years of current clinical experience is required.
A minimum of 5 years of clinical experience and OB/GYN experience is preferred.
EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:
Graduate in a program accredited by an agency recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), United States Department of Education (USDOE) or Canadian Medical Association (CMA), specifically conducts programmatic accreditation for diagnostic medical sonography/diagnostic cardiac sonography/vascular technology is required.
Currently the only organizations that offer programmatic accreditation under the aforementioned associations are the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) and the Canadian Medical Association (CMA).
Associate degree or Bachelors degree in Ultrasound/Sonography is preferred.
SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION:
Candidate must be proficient with ultrasound equipment and have knowledge of Patient Care Equipment. Must be able to motivate staff, independent thinker, good communicator, positive attitude, creativity, humble and have a commitment to excellence. Familiarity with McKesson PACS, Epic EMR preferred.
LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:
American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life support for the Healthcare provider (BLS) or an American Heart Association (AHA) approved equivalent is required.
Sonographers must be American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers ARDMS: (AB, OB/GYN and RVT) completed.
Dedicated Breast Sonographers must be ARDMS certified in Breast ultrasound (BR) or be certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with advanced certification through ARRT in Breast Sonography (BS).
