What you will be doing:
As a Hardware Engineer, you will lead the electrical hardware design, validation, and launch of consumer appliances that integrate electromechanical systems-humidifiers, fans, heaters, and/or medical devices-ensuring robust interaction among motors, pumps, sensing, controls, and microcontrollers. You will collaborate with cross-functional NPD teams and contract manufacturers (OEM/ODM) to take products from concept through pilot and mass production with a disciplined design control process.
- Own schematic design, component selection, and PCB development for embedded control and power electronics; guide layout and bring-up and perform board-level validation.
- Architect electromechanical subsystems (motors, transformers, pumps, fans, heaters) including drivers, sensors, protections, thermal management, and firmware interfaces to microcontrollers.
- Develop prototypes to de-risk concepts; execute feasibility, EVT/DVT/PVT test phases; iterate based on performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
- Create comprehensive test plans and scripts; conduct bench, environmental, and regulatory pre-compliance evaluations; analyze results and drive corrective actions.
- Ensure products meet applicable safety and performance standards (e.g., UL/ETL/CSA/IEC) and consumer appliance norms, support Project Engineers during formal agency testing.
- Produce and maintain design documentation: product requirements, design reports, DFMEA, DVP&R, test methods, and lessons learned.
- Partner with Project Engineers, Mechanical Design Engineers, Software Engineers and other cross-functions; translate consumer insights into engineering specifications; present technical findings to mixed audiences.
- Work with OEM/ODM partners on design for manufacturing (DFM/DFA), pilot builds, reliability testing; travel to supplier sites as needed.
- Lead cost-down and value engineering initiatives on existing products without compromising safety or performance.
Skills needed to be successful in this role:
- Clear written and verbal communication; ability to present to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
- 3+ years in hardware/electrical engineering for consumer product development or high-volume manufacturing; full lifecycle experience from concept through production.
- Hands-on with embedded control systems, power supplies (AC/DC, DC/DC), motor control, and sensors in appliances or small electromechanical products.
-
Experience with:
-
Embedded hardware: MCU-based designs; analog/digital circuits; interface buses (I²C, SPI, UART); board bring-up and debug.

Power electronics & motor control: Drivers, converters/inverters, magnetic components selection, protections; modeling/simulation desirable.
-
Reliability & compliance: DFMEA, DVP&R, APQP artifacts; pre-compliance EMC/EMI strategies; agency certification readiness.
-

- Ability to work in between offices and labs.
- Ability to travel up to 10% (international and domestic) for supplier engagement.
