As Sr. Network Administrator, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of the organization's network infrastructure. This role ensures that all network systems operate efficiently, securely, and reliably to support business operations. The Sr. Network Administrator monitors network performance, troubleshoots issues, and implements upgrades following best practices and organizational standards.

Reporting directly to the Information Technology Manager, this position is based in Shreveport, LA*.

Duties & Responsibilities

Network Operations & Maintenance

  • Install, configure, and support LAN, WAN, VPN, wireless networks, and related infrastructure.
  • Monitor network performance and ensure system availability, reliability, and optimal uptime.
  • Perform routine network maintenance, firmware updates, and hardware lifecycle management.
  • Maintain documentation of network configurations, diagrams, and asset inventories.
Security & Compliance
  • Implement and enforce network security policies, access controls, and best practices.
  • Monitor and respond to security alerts, vulnerabilities, and threats.
  • Support compliance initiatives such as audits, risk assessments, and incident reporting.
  • Manage firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint security tools.
Troubleshooting & Support
  • Diagnose and resolve network-related incidents and outages.
  • Provide Tier II/III technical support for escalated network issues.
  • Collaborate with help desk and systems teams to resolve cross-functional technical problems.
Project & Infrastructure Management
  • Plan and execute network upgrades, expansions, and modernization initiatives.
  • Evaluate new technologies and recommend solutions aligned with organizational needs.
  • Coordinate with vendors and service providers for procurement, maintenance, and escalations.


Qualifications

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field-or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Network Administrator or similar role.
Skills & Abilities:
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and VPNs.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise network hardware (e.g., Cisco, Meraki, Juniper, HP/Aruba).
  • Experience with firewall administration (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA).
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios).
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Experience with cloud/hybrid networking (Azure, AWS, or similar).
  • Working knowledge of VoIP technologies and QoS.
  • Scripting or automation experience (PowerShell, Python, Ansible).
Working Conditions:
  • Primarily office-based with occasional data center or network closet work.
  • May require after-hours support, on-call rotations, or emergency response.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment up to 40 lbs.
  • Must be able to travel domestically up to 5% of the time.
  • PPE is required
