What to Expect
The Sr. Systems Associate (Mobile App) is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and supporting mobile application modules and their connected services (APIs, integrations and dependent systems). This role will monitor operational signals, triages incidents and defects, perform first-level root-cause analysis, collaborate with IT teams to validate fixes through targeting testing, and communicate actionable insights to stakeholders to continuously improve service quality and user experience and partner with business stakeholders, customer experience and development teams to translate business needs into clear, actionable system and functional requirements. In addition, this role will produce and socialize reporting on IT KPIs, incident trends, service quality, and system health; deliver insights and recommendations to Digital leadership and stakeholders.
What You Will Do
1. Analysis & Troubleshooting:
• Support IT Application teams and business stakeholders to perform analysis on reported mobile application issues.
• Review daily logs, validate API interactions, analyze functional flows, and document findings to determine root cause indicators.
• Report on incident trends, service quality, and system health, delivering insights for stakeholders including vendors, internal team members, and Digital leadership.
• Perform unit testing on components delivered by the development team to validate functionality and confirm defect behavior.
• Utilize monitoring and diagnostic tools to interpret user behavior, application performance, and system-level issues.
• Collaborate across teams to clarify problems, gather required technical details, and support the resolution of defects or unexpected system behavior.
• Provide reporting and transparency on IT KPIs.
2. Systems and Requirement Analysis:
• Partner with business stakeholders, customer experience and development teams to translate business needs into clear, actionable system and functional requirements.
• Partner closely with Product Owners, developers, QA, and stakeholders to support backlog refinement, user story definition, and acceptance criteria, while ensuring solutions align with business objectives, technical standards, and end to end system impacts.
3. Application Monitoring:
• Monitor mobile application performance, backend services, and API integrations to detect anomalies or service disruptions.
• Work with technical leads to coordinate configuration updates, environment adjustments, or operational changes as required.
• Partner with IT governance and engineering teams to ensure processes support application availability and reliability.
4. Documentation:
• Create and maintain documentation related to system behavior, troubleshooting steps, incident analysis, configuration details, and operational procedures.
• Ensure documentation supports consistent issue handling and aligns with Security, Risk, and Compliance guidelines.
• Maintain clear records of known issues, resolutions, and recommended preventive actions.
Qualifications
What You Will Bring
• Minimum 4-6 years' experience in application support, production support, or a similar role supporting customer-facing applications.
• Automotive Finance industry background a plus
• Experience with monitoring and diagnostic tools such as Glassbox, Dynatrace, or similar solutions.
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting mobile applications and client/server interactions, including RESTful APIs.
• Ability to interpret logs and operational telemetry to form root-cause hypotheses and identify next best actions.
• Working knowledge with IT incident, availability, and service level management.
• Working knowledge of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban) and the software development lifecycle (SDLC), with awareness of how Agile differs from Waterfall delivery.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical findings for non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain strong relationships.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Excellent active listening skills.
• Strong organization and time/project management skills.
• Basic technical skills: iOS (Xcode, Swift basics) and Android (Android Studio, Kotlin/Java basics), Next.js, Spring Boot, SQL, PL/SQL, Java & basic IT application/architecture concepts.
• Ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences.
Work Environment
Employees in this class are subject to extended periods of sitting, standing, and walking, vision to monitor and moderate noise levels. Work is performed in an at home and office environment.
The posted salary range for this job takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; geographic location, and other business and organizational needs. Successful candidates may be hired anywhere in the salary range based on these factors. It is uncommon to hire candidates at or near the top of the range.
