The automotive markets Holman serves include fleet management and leasing; vehicle fabrication and upfitting; component manufacturing and productivity solutions; powertrain distribution and logistics services; commercial and personal insurance and risk management; and retail automotive sales as one of the largest privately owned dealership groups in the United States.

What will you be doing?

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to a team of Accounts Payable administrators, ensuring efficient and accurate processing of payments.
  • Oversee the Profit and Loss (P&L) responsibility within the accounts payable function, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints and financial objectives.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop Accounts Payable team members, fostering a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Analyze payment data and provide insightful ad hoc reporting to management as required, contributing to informed decision-making and financial transparency.
  • Collaborate with the IT department to implement and optimize technology solutions for payment processing, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate processing of payments to vendors and suppliers, adhering to established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with key vendor partners, facilitating effective communication and resolving issues or disputes promptly.
  • Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard against errors, fraud, and non-compliance in payment processing activities, ensuring accuracy and integrity.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within the accounts payable function, implementing best practices and automation tools where applicable.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, such as Finance, Purchasing, and Operations, and communicate updates and insights to stakeholders as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and company policies related to payment processing, minimizing risk and exposure to financial loss.
  • Monitor and track key performance indicators (KPIs) within the accounts payable function, identifying trends and areas for improvement to optimize performance.
  • Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.

What are we looking for?
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field or equivalent work experience
  • Additional education, certifications, or other distinctions are a plus
  • Familiarity with relevant accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS) and regulatory requirements related to accounts payable processes, such as tax regulations, payment terms, and audit compliance
  • Strong experience in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
  • Proficient in other desktop tools including MS Office Programs (i.e. Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, SharePoint etc.)
  • Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
  • 3-5 years' experience in accounts payable roles, including payment processing, vendor management, and financial controls
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in supervising or managing a team, preferably in an accounts payable or related financial function
  • Experience in financial analysis, reporting, and budgeting
  • Proven experience in building and managing relationships with vendors and external partners
  • Breadth and depth of expertise in a technical or functional area; knowledge of work processes and tools is generally limited to own area of responsibility or department
  • Reviewing and improving processes, methods, and tools to increase efficiency and accuracy

Benefits:

Regular Full-Time

We offer excellent benefits including health, vision, dental, life and disability insurance, and 401(k) with company match. Temporary or Part-Time

In geographic areas with statutory paid sick leave, part-time and temporary employees will receive a paid sick leave benefit that meets the mandated requirements.

Pay:

We offer competitive wages that are commensurate with job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and geographic location, starting in the range of $87,550.00 - $124,755.00 USD annually for full time employees. The annual compensation range is comprised of base pay earnings.
