Traffic Control Laborer Pay Range: $21-$25/hr subject to Prevailing Wage
The Traffic Control Laborer will ensure the safety of workers, motorists and pedestrians by maintaining proper traffic control and following all safety guidelines and regulations. As a Traffic Control Specialist, you will be our front line of Safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Discusses traffic routing plans, and type and location of control points with superior.
- Set up, maintain, and remove temporary work zones. Including warning signs, traffic cones, and rumble strips according to DOT regulations.
- Directs movement of traffic through site, using sign, hand, and flag signals.
- Warn construction workers when approaching vehicles fail to heed signals to prevent accidents and injuries to workers.
- Inform drivers of detour routes through construction sites.
- Records license number of traffic control violators for police.
- Gives hand marker to last driver in line up of one-way traffic for Flagger at opposite end of site, signaling clearance for reverse flow of traffic
Required
- Ability to work as part of a team and take direction from supervisors
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment
- Must be able to pass a post offer, pre-employment physical assessment test
- Be able to lift 50 pounds
- Physically capable of performing all flagging duties
- Valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Prior traffic control experience
- Familiarity with job site safety protocols and procedures
