Nature of Work

Produce detailed working technical documents for use in design review, fabrication and installation, using both AutoCAD and/or Revit to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Create fabrication drawings that are professional and accurate using architectural, structural, and mechanical contract prints consistent with company engineering standards.
• Develop increased proficiency in system operation with a resulting increase in productivity and learn how to use all software options.
• Receive incoming CAD/Revit files and convert them to engineering department standards.
• Assist with the printing, plotting, copying, and filing of documents for record.
• Exercise initiative or, as directed, perform additional duties to meet the needs of the organization.

• B asic understanding of Microsoft Windows and Office products required.

Education

• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required. One year of vocational training from a two-year college or technical school preferred.

Experience

• Six months or more of related work experience required.
• AutoCAD and Revit experience preferred.

Scope

• Responsible for own work only; expenses, and to a large extent results, are closely controlled by work procedures and standards.

Physical Demands

• Physical demands for this position are light. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be walking, standing, bending or carrying of light items (10-25 pounds) such as papers, books, small parts, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

Work Environment

• The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, residences, commercial vehicles, or outdoors, e.g., use of safe work practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls and observance of fire regulations and traffic signals, etc.
