The Department of French, Francophone, and Italian Studies at Wellesley College invites applications for two Visiting Assistant Teaching Professors of French, beginning in Fall 2026. One position carries a full-time (1.0 FTE) teaching load of 5 courses, and the other has a part-time (.8 FTE) load of 4 courses. Both are one-year, benefits-eligible appointments. PhD, ABD, MAT all considered. We seek a candidate with strong, demonstrated skills in the teaching of beginning and intermediate French language courses at the university level. Native or near-native fluency in French required. In addition to class meeting times, the candidate will hold regular office hours in person and promptly respond to student inquiries throughout the semester. There are no expectations for this position regarding formal advising. The candidate will be expected to engage in professional development and departmental service as outlined in the collective bargaining agreement.
