About the Role
Kitsap Credit Union is in search of a VP of Operations. This position is responsible for providing thought leadership and expertise to strategic initiatives relating to enhancing operations and payment services. Develops and executes an operating plan in support of the strategic goals of the Credit Union including optimization of people, process, and technology in back-office operations and financial payment channels. This includes but is not limited to interchange revenue, while being responsible for the performance of the organization's payment and account support functions/supporting systems.

Principal Accountabilities
- Responsible for strategic oversight, efficiency, and of the development and support of payment channels including but not limited to ATM Fleet Management, ACH, Wires, Zelle, Mobile deposits, and Item Processing.
- Creates a culture of understanding around leveraging of back-office automation and the need to upskill talent to generate higher levels of efficiency and improved employee/member experiences.
- Collaborates with internal partners including but not limited to Project Management, Branch Operations, Information Technology, Marketing, Business Services, and all Lending lines of business to create and execute on the organization's business strategies that are scalable.
- Defines roadmaps that develop and execute payments products and solutions that encompass feedback from internal stakeholders, members, and market changes
- Develops business cases, participates in vendor selection, and implementation/execution of vendor changes to meet evolving best practices and business needs.
- Responsible to ensure the Credit Union's relationship with service providers is optimized from a revenue and service standpoint, across all relevant business units.
- Provides thought and innovation leadership by using experience and payments ecosystem knowledge. Uses industry relationships to create and advance partnership opportunities that capitalize on the creativity and market reach of others.
- Works collaboratively with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts to identify opportunities within our operations or payment solutions offerings in support of established strategic priorities. Establishes roadmaps and/or project requests for prioritization based on strategic goals.
- Works with Project Management and other business lines to execute Business Process Management solutions and thinking in projects and deliverables.
- Monitors trends and provides ongoing insight to assist in the development and implementation of strategic initiatives with regard to a payment philosophy that meets member needs across all channels of business.
- Prepares monthly narratives for Chief Digital Experience Officer, sharing accomplishments and key performance indicators (KPIs) that convey performance levels of whole department (all areas).
- Drives best practices and establish KPIs to monitor and manage team and departmental performance.
- Provides strategic departmental oversight related to Operations/payments including but not limited to ATM fleet management, Visa cards, check processing, Zelle, ACH, wires, and/or electronic records. and all required tax/government reporting.
- Recommends and develops supporting framework and infrastructure to support the implementation of emerging technologies in payments, operations, or digital solutions.
- Performs ongoing analysis of existing payment flows and executes process improvement opportunities.
- Forecasts, budgets, and manages staffing levels.
- Works with compliance and audit departments to ensure consistency and regulatory compliance.

- Must have global perspective with payments industry expertise and proven experience in leading high-performance teams that successfully implement products and/or services that exceed member expectations.
- Knowledge of workflow redesign and process improvement relating to one or more of the following payments: Wires, ACH, Mastercard/Visa card processing, ATM fleet management.
- Knowledge of financial industry rules and regulations including payments
- Working knowledge of card networks.

Qualifications and Education Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, related field, or equivalent experience required.
- Ten or more years of experience with managing the back-office operations of banking products/services within a financial institution. Retail/Business mix preferred.
Supervisory Status This position supervises others and is responsible for being results oriented, collaborative, delegate effectively, and embrace the organization's core values, ensuring team effectiveness.
Working Conditions This position will be required to work in an office environment with moderate noise levels, and, with or without reasonable accommodation is required:
