Position Summary
This role supports engineering and design activities by performing data entry, creating scoping documents, and producing accurate technical drawings and mapping updates for distribution system projects. The ideal candidate will have foundational knowledge of engineering technology, drafting practices, and utility mapping systems.
Location & Schedule

• Reporting Address: Santa Ana, CA 92705
• Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
• Hybrid Requirement: Onsite Tuesdays and Wednesdays

Shift Type
Regular daytime schedule (M-F)
Education Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Associate Degree in Engineering Technology or an equivalent combination of education, training, or experience preferred

Experience Requirements

• Typically 0-3 years of related experience
• Basic knowledge of drafting and design principles
• Understanding of engineering practices, standards, codes, materials, and equipment used in routine design assignments
• Familiarity with mapping symbols and drafting techniques

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Perform data entry for project scoping activities (PIF scoping)
• Measure and document existing cable/conductor lengths
• Enter mapping data using the Scope Mapping Tool
• Update and maintain project information in systems such as MDI and/or C55
• Create detailed scoping drawings, diagrams, and maps for distribution systems
• Utilize PDF editing tools and consult GIS mapping applications (e.g., ArcGIS) for accurate documentation

Required Skills

• Proficiency with PDF editing software
• Experience reading and interpreting utility mapping information via GIS platforms (ArcGIS or similar)
• Background in electric utility design
