Job Description
Agilent is seeking an Employee Communications Program Director to craft and cultivate stories that will influence, educate, engage, and inform our employees worldwide. The work you do will be approachable and authentic, reinforcing Agilent's mission and culture. This role reports to the head of CEO and Corporate Communications and requires the ability to understand and communicate big picture ideas and programs.
The ideal candidate is both looking for a challenge and the opportunity to build an even stronger, more engaging internal communications program. You must be able to think strategically while also managing the day-to-day activities involved with the company's SharePoint-based intranet. Creatively seeking new ways to improve communications and employee engagement is a key element of the role as are outstanding writing and editing skills.
Responsibilities:
- Write/edit and oversee production of internal communications content for the general employee population.
- Drive the strategy and implementation of internal communications across various platforms, including the intranet, video, email, newsletters, and others.
- Ensure communications content is compelling and aligned with Agilent's voice and tone.
Location: Candidates must be within commuting distance of the Santa Clara, CA site. This role requires on-site work three days per week, with flexibility for remote or hybrid work up to two days per week.
- Guide storytelling efforts for key projects across the company and develop compelling campaigns and content to support global initiatives.
- Maintain a strategic and well-balanced internal communications editorial calendar and deliver regular internal communications content.
- Look for creative, effective ways to reach the broad employee audience.
- Lead and direct content production by external contractors.
- Direct and influence content produced by other groups and individuals across the company to ensure alignment with overall quality and messaging approach.
- Develop compelling campaigns and content to support global, companywide initiatives.
- Partner with a team of global communicators to coordinate content and ensure sufficient cadence of content from sites around the world.
- Coordinate with marketing and external-communications teams on Agilent.com content to ensure consistency of messaging with internal comms and to avoid duplication of effort.
- Partner with the Agilent philanthropy team and the external-comms leader on employee communications as needed.
- Define, track, and measure the success of internal communication strategies and campaigns. Make necessary adjustments to increase employee engagement and understanding.
- Serve as a "trusted advisor" on employee communications issues, strategic approaches, and communication tactics.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of internal communications experience.
- BS/BA in communications, journalism, or related field preferred.
- Proven track record developing and executing compelling internal communications strategies and programs - at scale and around the globe.
- Exceptional copywriting and editing skills.
- Well-versed in AP style.
- Ability to capture the authentic voice of the CEO and the company while helping to shape the internal communications narrative.
- Confidence and ability to effectively lead, manage, and execute multiple projects concurrently.
- Strong familiarity with Office 365 and related collaboration tools.
- Knowledge of SharePoint and demonstrated ability to update and strategically manage intranet content

The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $172,512.00 - $269,550.00/yr plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
