Description

The Welbilt Experience Center in Coppell, Texas is seeking a dedicated and reliable Kitchen Steward to support our Back-of-House Manager and culinary team in maintaining a clean, efficient, and well-organized kitchen environment. As a vital member of our operations team, the Kitchen Steward ensures the highest standards of sanitation, safety, and cleanliness that make exceptional culinary execution possible.

This role plays a key part in supporting daily kitchen operations by operating dishwashing equipment, maintaining work areas, assisting with basic food preparation, and contributing to the smooth flow of both routine service and special events. Major Accountabilities

  • Sanitation & Safety Compliance: Maintain high standards of kitchen cleanliness and equipment sanitation.
  • Dishwashing & Equipment Care: Operate dish machines and store equipment properly.
  • Operational Support: Assist culinary and beverage teams with prep, plate-ups, event support, and general kitchen tasks.
Roles, Responsibilities & Job Duties

Sanitation & Dishwashing
  • Operate and monitor dishwashing machines; ensure correct wash and rinse temperatures.
  • Wash pots, pans, utensils, and small wares; ensure all items are cleaned and stored properly.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked dish area.
  • Separate and handle guest dishes and utensils according to sanitation procedures.
  • Clean kitchen areas following established protocols.
Support for Culinary & Beverage Teams
  • Assist with plate-ups during service or events.
  • Move equipment and supplies as needed.
  • Clean and restock workstations and prep areas.
  • Launder in-house aprons, towels, and BOH linens.
  • Help with basic food preparation such as washing, cutting fruits/vegetables, and preparing meats.
Event, Buffet & Operational Support
  • Assist with buffets, salad bars, and event setup when required.
  • Collect and return equipment, decorations, utensils, and dishes used during events.
  • Help set up and maintain service areas during special events.

Event Upkeep
  • Monitor for hazards (e.g., wet floors, broken equipment) and address them immediately.
  • Maintain cleanliness of: Floors and floor drains, Vent hoods, Storage rooms, Trash areas, Back hallways
  • Work as part of a team to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and safely.


Qualifications

Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior kitchen, stewarding, or janitorial experience helpful but not required.
  • Experience operating dish machines or working in a commercial kitchen is a plus.
Skills, Certifications & Attributes
  • Ability to follow sanitation and safety procedures
  • Basic understanding of kitchen operations
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks
  • Food Handler certification is preferred.
  • Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated
  • Strong attention to cleanliness and detail
  • Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced, hot, and noisy environment
  • Team-oriented with a positive attitude
  • Consistently align with Company core values.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Full-time onsite role based in Coppell, TX.
  • Frequent standing, bending, lifting, and carrying items up to 40 lbs.
  • Exposure to heat, humidity, wet floors, and cleaning chemicals.
  • Work performed in kitchen, dish room, storage areas, and event spaces.
  • Requires flexibility to work extended hours and day/evening shifts, as assigned.
