Volt is currently hiring for Lab Operators in Austin, TX

We are expanding our team and seeking motivated Lab Operators interested in developing their careers within the biotech industry. This is a hands-on role ideal for individuals who thrive in operational lab environments and want to grow with a fast-paced, process-driven organization. Qualified candidates will receive comprehensive lab and safety training, allowing them the ability to run protocols in our Austin facility.

While these positions begin as contract roles, strong performers will be considered for conversion into full-time employment. Candidates with 2+ years of relevant experience or a related bachelor's degree may qualify for immediate full-time opportunities.

• Perform laboratory protocols accurately and efficiently with minimal supervision.
• Adhere to all policies, SOPs, and site-specific procedures.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and operational activities.
• Utilize computer-based tools and software systems to support lab workflows.
• Maintain organization, cleanliness, and accuracy in all assigned tasks.
• Safely handle small components, equipment, and materials used in experiments.
• Follow all laboratory safety guidelines, including appropriate PPE usage.
• Work 12.5-hour shifts with flexibility for overtime as needed; role requires extended periods of standing.
• Lift and handle materials within OSHA safety limits.

Required Qualifications

• Comfortable working in fast-paced production, fulfillment, or manufacturing environments with clear performance metrics.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to follow detailed written instructions consistently and accurately.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong computer literacy and willingness to learn new systems.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• 1-3 years of experience in a laboratory or regulated manufacturing environment (Biotech, Pharma, Medical Device, Automotive, etc.).
• Familiarity with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) or GLP (Good Laboratory Practices).
• Prior experience in high-throughput or process-driven lab environments.

Shifts: 12.5 hours for 3 days/6.5 for 1 day (4x on/3x off)

Pay Rate: 10% shift diff

*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
