Position Overview
The MRF (Machinery Repair Facility) Manager oversees the Machinery Repair Facility, (CAX Depot), and a team of specialized maintenance technicians who perform maintenance and repair activities on mission machinery at the depot, aboard ship, and at various shipyards and other designated locations worldwide. Has extensive knowledge, skills and experience regarding this specialized equipment and the critical role it performs in regards to the program.
Responsibilities
- Develop annual MRF maintenance task lists and budget requirements for MRF operations.
- Review technical manuals and drawings for correct content and accuracy.
- Determine appropriate procedures and plan work based on drawings and technical manuals.
- Plan, schedule and direct daily work activities within timelines and available personnel.
- Ensure material to support repairs/overhauls of equipment is identified and ordered to meet production schedules.
- Initiate the requirement for Machine Shop services and/or contractor assistance, when required.
- Maintain and repair sponsor designated shipboard systems and equipment.
- Manage equipment maintenance and operations activities for both shipboard and shore based cable handling system equipment.
- Ensure facilities maintenance for Building 483 HVAC and other systems is maintained.
- Submit work requests for required depot and facilities maintenance services.
- Prepare briefings, Slides, Power Point presentations, Spreadsheets, and other documents as required for daily operations.
- Write sponsor required work items and provide onsite support during shipyard availabilities, during overhauls and voyage repairs.
- Design, build and install equipment as required to support operations.
- Manage safety program for maintenance depot and provide safety training as required.
- Ensure technicians are trained and up to date on latest technical advances in the field.
- Travel will may be required to support mission requirements.
Qqualifications Qualifications - High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience
- Minimum 15 years of recent experience refurbishing and/or rebuilding cable handling machinery and associated cable handling equipment and marine systems.
- Prior Navy/Military Mechanical /Technical Engineering experience.
- Solid working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and electronic systems, mechanical and electrical drawings.
- Reading and interpreting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic drawings & schematics.
- Working knowledge of design and fabrication materials.
- Fork Lift Operator and Crane Operator/Rigger certification.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products.
- Candidate will have to perform in an ISO-9000 rated company in a rapidly changing and demanding atmosphere.
- Must be able to obtain security clearance.
