Voyatek is seeking applicants to occupy the position of Test Engineer within our team.

Client Details:

The New York Power Authority (NYPA) is the largest state public power organization in the United States, renowned for its role in providing clean, affordable, and reliable energy. NYPA's mission is to power New York with clean energy while driving economic growth and sustainability. It focuses on reducing greenhouse gas emissions, modernizing the state's energy infrastructure, and promoting energy efficiency and innovation across sectors.

New York Power Authority's ("NYPA") current on-premise Enterprise Resource Planning ("ERP") system, SAP ECC 6.0, is almost 20 years old and is approaching technological obsolescence. Systems Application and Products ("SAP") has already released its statement of intent to end new development on that platform and is planning on removing it from standard support on December 31, 2027. Project Luminate is a program to replace NYPA's current on-premise ERP system with a cloud-based system to ensure an adaptable environment able to meet NYPA's needs. In 2023, NYPA awarded a contract to Gartner Inc. to perform a detailed readiness assessment to define key requirements that the new system has to meet and to identify current business process improvements that are critical to be addressed as a precursor to the transition to a cloud-based platform.

Key Responsibilities:

• Test Engineer will play a key role in supporting the testing activities on the project, review vendor test activities and deliverables.
• Facilitate automation testing in Tricentis Tosca with DEX environment.
• Create, update and support automation scripts using Tricentis Tosca.
• Execute automation tests.
• Support defect management triaging the issues.
• Create and review Functional test plans.
• Create and review test scripts.
• Collaborate in Technical Requirements document.
• Create Requirements Traceability Matrix.
• Create test strategy, scenarios and scripts.
• Assist team with stakeholder communications.
• Weekly status reports.
• Meeting agendas, materials, and minutes for weekly meetings.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of applicable experience as a test automation engineer.
• Strong experience in designing, developing, and executing automated test scripts in Tricentis Tosca using TCD approach.
• Extensive experience in integration testing including API.
• Extensive experience in defect tracking and reporting.
• Hands-on experience in CI/CD pipeline using Azure DevOps.
• Experience in SAP/S4 HANA testing especially ISU- Utilities, SAP FICO, SAP MM, SAP SD.
• Ability to write and execute SQL queries to validate data in databases.
• Familiarity with different types of databases (e.g., MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, MongoDB). Experience in performance testing tools like JMeter, LoadRunner, or Gatling.
• Knowledgeable with waterfall and agile methodology.
• Knowledge of API testing tools like Postman, SoapUI, RestAssured, or Karate Understanding of web technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and DOM.
• Knowledge of browser developer tools for debugging and inspecting web elements.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to details.

Education & Certifications

• BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field from an accredited school, or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Understanding of mobile OS platforms (iOS and Android).
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages commonly used in test automation, such as Java, Python, JavaScript, C#, Ruby, or VBScript would be plus.
  • Knowledge with mobile testing frameworks and tools like Appium, Espresso, XCUITest, or Robot Framework is a plus.
  • Testing certifications like ISTQB, Tricentis TOSCA certifications is a plus.
  • Knowledge of version controlling like GitHub repository is a plus.

The wage range for this role reflects the wide array of factors considered in compensation decisions. These factors include, but are not limited to, skill sets, experience, training, licensure and certifications, and geographic location. Compensation decisions are based on the unique facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the hourly range is $80.00 - $90.00.
