CCI Facility Contractors is expanding its workforce and is seeking a reliable and experienced Project Engineer to support project managers in coordinating and executing concrete and masonry restoration projects, handling scheduling, documentation, technical coordination, and on-site quality control. This role bridges the field and office, ensuring project efficiency, compliance with preservation standards, and smooth communication among all stakeholders.
The Project Engineer supports Project Managers in the execution of federal construction projects, ensuring compliance with contract documents, federal specifications, and applicable codes. This role assists with schedules, budgets, RFIs, submittals, and project documentation; coordinates with government representatives, design teams, and subcontractors; and supports quality control and regulatory requirements. The Project Engineer conducts site visits to monitor progress and safety, tracks materials and deliveries, assists with preconstruction estimating, documents changes and field issues, and facilitates communication between the field and office to maintain efficient project delivery.

This position will report to our office location in Huntsville, AL at Redstone Arsenal.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties, but not all duties performed for this position. Other duties may be assigned.
- Support Project Managers in the day-to-day management of projects.
- Assist in preparing and maintaining project schedules, budgets, RFIs, submittals, and other documentation.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, and subcontractors to gather technical data and ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Conduct site visits to monitor work progress, quality assurance, and adherence to safety protocols.
- Track project materials, equipment, and deliveries to maintain efficient workflow.
- Assist in preparing estimates, take-offs, and proposals during the pre-construction phase.
- Maintain project documentation and files.
- Assist in developing and maintaining two week and project schedules.
- Document project updates, change orders, and issues that arise during construction.
- Help ensure that all work meets historical preservation, quality standards and local building codes.
- Participate in project meetings and prepare meeting minutes and follow-up actions.
- Collaborate with field personnel to resolve technical issues and support effective communication between the field and office.
Minimum Qualifications: To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualifications listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of construction experience reviewing, providing analysis, managing, and resolving field coordination issues with project team members and participants
- 5 years of experience coordinating the BIM efforts between customers and subcontractors
- Strong technical, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and historical documents.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Minimum Qualifications: - OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is a plus.
- A Professional Engineering (PE) or Registered Architect (RA) License is highly desirable.
Additional Qualifying Factors: As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening (post accepted offer) and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.

If required, must properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times including but not limited to: hard hats, steel toed boots, eye protection, respiratory protection, and hearing protection. Must always maintain a constant state of mental alertness.
Working Conditions Job is performed in a combination of office and outdoor site locations. The office setting includes exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, and mouse. Outdoor settings include walking, driving, and carrying supplies throughout all seasons with exposure to heat and cold conditions, and potentially wildlife. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and loud noise.
