Overview: Our client, an engineering firm specializing in renewable energy, water, and environmental solutions, is seeking a Senior Regulatory Consultant to manage and support complex regulatory and science-focused projects. This role will lead project teams, provide strategic guidance on federal and state permitting processes (including FERC, NEPA, and Clean Water Act requirements), and serve as a key client contact. The ideal candidate brings 15+ years of regulatory consulting experience, strong knowledge of Alaska-specific frameworks, and a proven ability to manage large projects, mentor staff, and support business development.
This is a hybrid, full-time position based in Anchorage, Alaska.
Pay Rate: $100,000-125,000/year

Responsibilities: - Manage and support regulatory and science-focused projects related to renewable energy, water, and environmental initiatives
- Lead and coordinate project teams while overseeing staff workloads across multiple concurrent projects
- Provide strategic guidance on state and federal regulatory processes, including FERC, NEPA, Clean Water Act Section 401, and USACE Section 404 permitting
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, senior leaders, and stakeholders to deliver practical solutions to complex regulatory challenges
- Oversee project deliverables, schedules, and quality while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and project outcomes
- Prepare and manage project scopes, budgets, proposals, and marketing materials
- Build and maintain long-term client relationships and support new client and business development efforts
- Mentor and provide peer guidance to junior- and mid-level staff
- Participate in presentations, regulatory meetings, and stakeholder engagement efforts
Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Policy, Ecology, Planning, Environmental Studies, or a related field
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in environmental or regulatory consulting
- In-depth knowledge of federal and state regulatory processes, including FERC licensing, NEPA, Clean Water Act Section 401, and USACE Section 404
- Strong understanding of Alaska-specific regulatory frameworks and stakeholder groups (preferred)
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills, including presentation, writing, and editing capabilities
- Demonstrated experience managing large, complex projects and working directly with senior leaders and clients
- Proven ability to develop client relationships, support marketing and proposal efforts, and secure repeat work
- Permanent authorization to work in the United States
- Willingness to travel and possession of a valid driver's license
