Position Overview
Ultimate Staffing Services is actively seeking a skilled SMT Operator to join their client's team in Brea, CA. This is a temp-to-hire position, offering a great opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced manufacturing environment. The SMT Operator plays a crucial role in the PCB assembly process, responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring advanced SMT production equipment to ensure high-quality and reliable builds. This position is ideal for someone with hands-on experience with SMT machinery, a keen eye for identifying and resolving production issues, and a commitment to maintaining safety, quality, and throughput.
Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and shut down assigned equipment according to established procedures.
- Perform basic preventive maintenance tasks and maintain accurate maintenance logs.
- Ensure products meet quality specifications and production schedules.
- Notify the Machine Group Leader of any quality issues or deviations.
- Follow proper procedures for handling and disposing of leaded and non-leaded solder, especially for Jade and Wave machines.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and using appropriate protective equipment.
- Assist in conformal coating and other production tasks as required.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of IPC-A-610 standards and component identification.
- Ability to follow detailed written instructions and work with hand tools.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
- Self-motivated with a strong sense of responsibility and teamwork.
- Willingness to operate various machines as directed by the supervisor.
- Background check and drug screen required.
Required Work HoursMonday to Friday, 2nd Shift: 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM
BenefitsThis role offers a competitive hourly rate ranging from $20 to $22 per hour, with potential for long-term employment upon successful completion of the temp-to-hire period.
