Sr Advanced Engineering Technician

Annapolis Junction, MD

Pay Estimated: $27.00-$32.00/Hour

Contribute to a company at the forefront of mission-critical systems and technologies in defense and security. This leader in global defense integrates advanced technology to deliver information and insights on the battlefield, offering roles that support security and technological superiority across multiple domains.

Responsibilities:

• Interpret complex engineering drawings, schematics, and system diagrams to understand component interfaces and system functionality
• Perform system-level troubleshooting down to component level for electro-optic, laser, and experimental electronic systems
• Execute testing, checkout, and diagnostic activities using schematics, layouts, written instructions, and engineering plans
• Build, modify, and assemble prototype hardware, including experimental circuitry and electro-optic subsystems
• Lay out, calibrate, install, adjust, and maintain specialized laboratory and test equipment
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other technicians supporting engineering development activities

Qualifications:

• U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
• Associate's degree in Engineering Technology, Electronics, Optics, Photonics, or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
• Minimum 5 years of relevant hands-on technical experience supporting engineering development or prototype systems
• Technical Skills:
  • Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation
  • Experience with system troubleshooting to component level
  • Knowledge of engineering specifications, requirements, standards, and technical practices
• Preferred Experience:
  • Experience with fiber-optic communications systems
