Sr Systems Engineer
Full-Time with an Employee Owned and Best Places to Work Contractor
Onsite in Huntsville, AL | Schedule: 9x80
Support missile defense operations by developing model-based systems engineering (MBSE) artifacts that enable detection, tracking, and interception of inbound ballistic missile threats.
Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain MBSE artifacts using Cameo (SysML) for complex DoD systems
- Develop, decompose, and allocate system requirements using DOORS
- Perform system architecture development, including functional decomposition and interface definition
- Model system behaviors and interactions for missile defense applications
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment across hardware, software, and system components
- Support analysis and simulation of intercept scenarios and sensor integration
- Contribute to documentation and technical reviews for system engineering deliverables
Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
- Active Secret Clearance required
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM field from an accredited institution and 5+ years of relevant experience (Or Master's degree and 3+ years of experience)
- Experience with Cameo (MagicDraw) and DOORS
- Strong background in system architecture, requirements development, and interface definition
- Experience with MBSE and SysML for complex systems
- Technical Skills:
- MBSE (Model-Based Systems Engineering)
- SysML modeling
- Requirements management (DOORS)
- System architecture & functional decomposition
- Interface control and definition
Preferred Qualifications:
- Missile defense or related domains (e.g., ballistic/hypersonic tracking, air defense, space systems)
- Experience with systems such as Aegis, GMD, GPI, HBTSS, C2BMC
- Knowledge of EO/IR/RF sensors, interceptors, kill vehicles, countermeasures
- Experience supporting large-scale DoD systems
