Your Role:
As a Transportation Analyst III at MilliporeSigma, you will be responsible for optimizing and analyzing the performance, quality, and cost of domestic and international transportation operations. You will identify logistical and financial opportunities to enhance efficiency and reduce costs associated with transportation while collaborating effectively with internal and external partners involved in shipping and receiving operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of freight forwarders, carriers, and couriers to ensure compliance with service levels and cost-effectiveness.
- Conduct detailed analyses of transportation costs and service levels on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis.
- Oversee the performance of transportation business partners through regular reviews, developing standardized templates and metrics to ensure high-quality partnerships.
- Prepare and present analytics and cost studies to support negotiations with carriers and rate proposals.
- Perform transportation network optimization studies to drive cost & quote methodologies and improve route efficiency.
- Identify strategies to enhance service levels while minimizing freight expenditures, including alternative transportation methods and carrier selection.
- Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with transportation carriers, focusing on service quality and economic efficiency.
- Establish and implement policies and procedures for regional carriers to enhance service delivery and compliance.
- Collaborate with shipping sites to ensure compliance with routing expectations and address non-compliance issues promptly.
- Participate in the design and improvement of logistics processes and procedures, leveraging technology and automation where applicable.
- Troubleshoot transportation-related issues, performing root cause analyses and developing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Stay informed of industry trends, regulatory changes, and technological advancements that may impact transportation logistics.
- Demonstrate adaptability and integrity in all aspects of work, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Build a reputation as a trusted advisor within the transportation team and with internal stakeholders, providing insights and recommendations.
- Position located in Burlington, MA (hours - 9am-6pm & 10am-7pm)

Who You Are:Minimum Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of work experience in logistics or transportation analytics along with 2+ years of experience utilizing Microsoft Excel

- High School Diploma or GED with 5+ years of work experience in logistics or transportation analytics along with 2+ years of experience utilizing Microsoft Excel
Preferred Qualifications:
- General knowledge of logistics practices, techniques, and standards within the life sciences industry.
- Familiarity with U.S. Export and Customs regulations, as well as import/export documentation and recordkeeping.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and generate actionable insights.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and logistics management software.
- Experience with transportation management systems (TMS) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- APICS certifications (CPIM or CSCP) or willingness to pursue.
- Direct experience interacting with GMP personnel, Finance, and IT, with strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong organizational skills.
- Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma principles or other process improvement methodologies is a plus.
Pay Range for this position - $77,600k - $116,400k year
The offer range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base pay compensation for this position. The actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level of experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors.
