Position Summary
The CTT Welding Instructor delivers hands-on, industry-recognized welding instruction that prepares students for full-time employment, higher education, or advanced training. This role blends technical expertise with mentorship, classroom leadership, and career guidance to support student success from training through placement-all while maintaining the highest standards of data integrity and confidentiality.
What You'll Do Teach & Train
- Deliver high-quality welding instruction aligned with industry standards and certification requirements.
- Prepare students to successfully complete Career Technical Training and earn industry-recognized credentials.
- Maintain an organized, safe, and engaging learning environment that promotes skill mastery and accountability.
- Model and reinforce Career Success Standards as required by the PRH.
Mentor & Motivate - Serve as a role model, mentor, and coach-guiding students toward personal responsibility, professionalism, and career readiness.
- Provide individualized support and case management to ensure student progress, achievement, and program completion.
- Hold students accountable for attendance, dress code, safety practices, and behavioral expectations.
Career & Placement Support - Provide job leads and career guidance to help graduates transition into employment.
- Monitor and support successful placement outcomes for program completers.
- Collaborate with Center staff to ensure student readiness for the workforce.
Performance, Compliance & Quality - Support the Center in meeting or exceeding DOL and Company performance goals.
- Follow all integrity guidelines and ensure accurate, ethical reporting of student data.
- Produce timely, accurate, and high-quality documentation and work assignments.
- Continuously improve instructional methods and stay current with welding trends, techniques, and certifications.
Collaboration & Professionalism - Work collaboratively with staff across all departments to provide coordinated student services.
- Communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
- Identify challenges, recommend solutions, and follow through to resolution.
- Accept guidance from Center leadership, including temporary assignment of duties outside the primary role when needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Qualifications & Experience - Minimum one (1) year of teaching or related experience required.
- Certified, licensed, or accredited in the state where the Center is located OR accredited by a professional trade organization.
- For NTC: Certification by a union, trade organization, or national trade certifying body required.
- Previous Job Corps experience preferred.
- Valid driver's license and ability to meet Company insurability requirements.
Physical Requirements - Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, bend, reach, stoop, and crouch.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds independently or assess load weight and request assistance when needed (depending on trade).
