Position SummaryThe
Accounting Summer Associate / Intern will support core Accounting, Billing, and Accounts Receivable (AR) operations within a large, regulated enterprise environment. This role provides practical exposure to accounting execution, process improvement, compliance activities, and cross-functional finance initiatives, including system implementations and peak period support.
Scope of Work & ResponsibilitiesThe intern will support Accounting and AR operations by:
- Assisting with core Accounting, Billing, and Accounts Receivable activities
- Supporting journal entries, reconciliations, reserve analysis, and related documentation
- Assisting with cash application activities, including unapplied cash analysis and exposure to collections reporting
- Participating in cross-functional Billing and AR projects, including support of the HighRadius implementation
- Helping develop metrics and reporting to track collections performance, unbilled revenue, and cash application effectiveness
- Supporting SOX and internal control walkthroughs, documentation, and testing
- Providing ad-hoc support for strike billing and revenue accruals during peak operational periods
Skills & Experience Gained
- Practical accounting and AR experience within a corporate, regulated environment
- Hands-on Excel experience and exposure to ERP systems and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI)
- Familiarity with AR and cash application platforms, including HighRadius
- Understanding of SOX compliance, internal controls, and audit documentation
- Experience supporting cross-functional collaboration and process improvement initiatives
- Ability to manage discrete tasks, analyses, and workstreams with increasing independence

QualificationsEducation & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 0-2 years of related experience
- 3.0 GPA
Additional Requirements
- Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student
- Preferred majors: Accounting, Finance, or related fields
- Strong interest in corporate accounting, finance operations, or audit/compliance

Pay Rate$17.25 - $20.50 Hourly
Final pay rate is dependent on experience, training, education, and location.
